Dollar rate today : Selling rate jumps to Rs. 334

The Sri Lankan rupee has depreciated further against the US dollar across commercial banks in Sri Lanka today (18), compared to last Friday, with the selling rate jumping by Rs. 2 to Rs. 334.  

According to Seylan Bank, the buying and selling rates of the US dollar remain unchanged at Rs. 322.35 and Rs. 331.10, respectively.

The Sri Lankan rupee has depreciated further against the US dollar across commercial banks in Sri Lanka today (18), compared to last Friday, with the selling rate jumping by Rs. 2 to Rs. 334. According to Seylan Bank, the buying and selling rates of the US dollar remain unchanged at Rs. 322.35 and Rs. 331.10, respectively.

  

At NDB Bank, the buying and selling rates of the US dollar have increased from Rs. 324.25 to Rs. 327.75 and from Rs. 330.75 to Rs. 334.25, respectively.

People’s Bank reports the buying rate of the US Dollar has increased from Rs. 325.21 to Rs. 327.19, while the selling rate has also increased from Rs. 332.39 to Rs. 334.41.

Meanwhile, at Commercial Bank, the buying and selling rates have increased from Rs. 323.23 to Rs. 325.71 and from Rs. 331.75 to Rs. 334.25, respectively.

At Sampath Bank, the buying and selling rates have increased from Rs. 325.25 to Rs. 327.75 and from Rs. 331.75 to Rs. 334.25.

According to the Executive Board calendar of the IMF, the Board discussions on Sri Lanka are scheduled on May 27. Once approved by the board, Sri Lanka will have access to about USD 700 million under its Extended Fund Facility with the IMF.



Exchange rate error costs People’s Bank Rs. 656 Mn

Sri Lanka imposes 50% surcharge on imported vehicles for three months
